Below you will find the details of the 'Meet the Teacher' afternoon/evenings coming up in February.

DATES and TIMES
During Week Three, TUESDAY / WEDNESDAY / THURSDAY 9-11 February.

Tuesday 9 February:

• Year 3 – 4:30pm – 5:15pm
• Year 4 – 5:15pm – 6:00pm

Wednesday 10 February:

• Prep – 3:30pm – 4:15pm
• Year 1 – 4:30pm – 5:15pm
• Year 2 – 5:15pm – 6:00pm

Thursday 11 February:

• Year 5 – 4:30pm – 5:15pm
• Year 6 – 5:15pm – 6:00pm

Some families have mentioned that they did not receive the emails sent out last week from myself and Mr Murdoch. Below are the still relevant sections from those emails .

Open Afternoons January 27/28/29 - 2:30-3:00pm.
A reminder to families that our classrooms are open to you for the first three (3) days of next week between 2:30-3:00pm. This is an opportunity for you to informally meet the teacher and spend time with your child in their 2021 classroom environment.

Given our population numbers, what I would ask is that we are mindful of others, and limit the visits to once (per class of course) over the duration of our three open afternoons.

Building Future Schools Program
I am sure a number of our community have heard about the proposal for a new Inner West Primary School opening in 2023. Below you can find the flyer advertising the planned community consultation sessions. These sessions will be held at Indooroopilly SHS, Indooroopilly SS and Ironside SS. I encourage all members of our community to have their voices heard on this important matter.

I hope that the holidays have been enjoyed by all. I am excited and very much looking forward to seeing everybody back at Ironside (in the usual way) on Wednesday.

News from HPE

District Swimming Timing
Any students born in 2009 – 2011 who would like a swimming stroke timed or would like to improve a time from last year's swim carnival are invited to come to the pool tomorrow ( Friday 29 January) at morning tea and Mr. Clarke-Okah will time them.

News from Choir

This year we are restructuring our choral groups and will be offering four choirs across years 1 - 6.
All groups will be rehearsing on campus, either before/after school or during school time. Please complete the survey below regarding rehearsal times outside of school hours for choir groups in Years 3-6.

• Piccole Voci - Year 1
• Voci Dei Bambini - Year 2
• Canto Voci - Years 3 and 4
• Belle Voci - Years 5 and 6

All choral groups will have opportunities thorughout the year for public and/or peer performances.

Inspiring Lunchboxes
Do you want some help and motivation to create healthy and enjoyable lunchboxes for your kids? We all know this can be tricky! Alison works at Ironside OSHC as an Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) and will be running a Parent Workshop to provide you with the inspiration, knowledge and skills to help you prepare great lunchboxes your kids will enjoy.

Wednesday 10 February 2021 from 6-7pm
Ironside SS Hall
Ticket: $5 per parent

Sample lunchbox foods are provided for parents to trial on the night
